Digital TV Change Go’s Into Affect Feb 17 2009

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Ok so unless you have been out of the USA for a few years or living under a rock you know starting February 2009 the analog TV single that TV transmits on will be terminated. The FCC has determined the signal to be obsolete. The new bandwidth will be all digital.  Digital TV or DTV is an advanced broadcasting technology that will transform your television viewing experience. DTV enables broadcasters to offer television with better picture and sound quality. It can also offer multiple programming choices So if you have a Television that was purchased before the year 2000 your Television may not be compatible. Don't worry though you can get a Digital TV converter box. The box's are not very expensive and the FCC / US Government will send you a coupon.

Between Jan. 1, 2008, and March 31, 2009, all U.S. households will be eligible to request up to two coupons, worth $40 each, to be used toward the purchase of up to two, digital-to-analog converter boxes. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has responsibility for administering the coupon program. (Please note that these coupons will expire 90 days after mailing). More information can be found at DTV 2009

If you have Cable TV or Satellite TV you have nothing to worry about either. You are probably already receiving The DTV Signal now. Call you DTV Service Provider and make sure.
